There’s a host of games in week 3 of the preseason. It gets started on Thursday with Miami visiting Carolina. It’s preseason so there are no marquee matchups to watch. Some teams are pulling out starters and some are getting ready to let them play more. The Monday night game is Green Bay at Cincinnati. Here’s the NFL odds for week 3 of the preseason.
Cornerback Quentin Jammer signed a deal with the San Diego Chargers that will make him a Charger for a very long time. He already had two more years left on his contract, but Jammer was interested in security more than trying to play the free agent game in a couple of years. The two sides agreed on a five year deal worth up to an estimated 30 million. That figure includes some $13.5 million in bonuses.
There are two NFL preseason games tonight. Cleveland Browns are at the Philadelphia Eagles (7:30pm) and the Indianapolis Colts are at the St. Louis Rams (8:00pm). The Colts at Rams game should be on FOX. Most sportsbooks have lines up. Here’s the general consensus.
The Eagles opened up the preseason with a 16-10 loss to the Oakland Raiders. While preseason games don’t matter much, this one did. The Eagles were pleased by Donovan McNabb’s lone series. In that series, he went 3-3 in passing and led the team to score a TD. The drive featured the Eagle’s first team and showed that the Eagles are ready for business.
The preseason has not even started (expect one game) and the Giants already have injuries mounting up. They are expected to fight for the NFC East title, but they better get healthy fast. On Monday, new Giant LaVar Arrington was absent from practice due to his knee swelling. RB Derrick Ward is out with a broken foot.
All-pro cornerback, Ronde Barber, has finally signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The new deal is reportedly worth $24 million over five years. He’s also going to get $6 million in bonuses over the next two seasons. I am not sure if the deal is officially announced yet, but it’s a done deal.
