Scott Linehan, the new St. Louis Rams coach, has confirmed that Marshall Faulk is going to undergo major knee surgery and be out for the entire season. It’s quite likely that this is the end of the line for Faulk. He had a good career, but it’s time to head for greener pastures, like the announcer’s booth.

Marshall Faulk is not sure if he will be a go for the 2006 season, which would be his 13th. His knees just aren’t cooperating and he might have to throw in the towel and retire. If you remember, Faulk had surgery on both of his knees early this year. It’s quite possible that he needs more surgery. His agent, Rocky Arceneaux, said that playing this coming year is basically a “coin toss.”
