Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Betting Posts

I was reviewing NFL futures today and I decided to make an NFL prediction about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Looking at some sportsbooks, I see their under/over season win total is at 8.5. In 2007, the Bucs were 9-7 and I don’t think they can repeat it.

Why?

Well, let’s start with the fact that the Bucs are old and perhaps a bit transitional. Jeff Garcia is prone to injury (play style) and he’s 38. Next up we have Joey Galloway at 36. What would the Bucs do without him? I’ll tell you what. They wouldn’t score. Finally, we look at the running game. Warrick Dunn is 33. While he’s got some time left, he’s still not going to have a career year.

Next, let’s look at their schedule.

The Carolina Panthers can thank John Kasey for bailing them out on Sunday. The Panthers had a 17-0 lead and almost lost. The wheels started coming off for Carolina as the Buccaneers scored 17 points off of 3 Carolina turnovers. The Buccaneers had a 24-23 lead midway through the 4th quarter. One Carolina’s last possession, they drove down the field and turned the ball over to John Kasay with 6 seconds left in the game. Kasay nailed a 46 yard field goal to give Carolina the 26-24 win.

All-pro cornerback, Ronde Barber, has finally signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The new deal is reportedly worth $24 million over five years. He’s also going to get $6 million in bonuses over the next two seasons. I am not sure if the deal is officially announced yet, but it’s a done deal.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers increased their quarterback options with the signing of free-agent Jay Fiedler. He’s expected to compete for a backup job with fellow quarterback Chris Simms. Fiedler is a better quarterback than Simms, but he has his issues. Fiedler has been in the NFL for 10 seasons and has started in 60 games. He was let go earlier this year by the Dolphins to make room under the cap.
