Austin Wranglers at Georgia Force

We’ve got a great week two Southern National Conference battle between the Austin Wranglers and the Georgia Force. The Wranglers are fresh off their week one shellacking of the Las Vegas Gladiators – 57-36. Last week the Force survived by beating the Rattlers 69-65.

The Force comes into this game favored by 7.5. The under/over is 103. The play here has to be the over. Both teams can score in the 50’s and 60’s and more importantly, both teams will give up 50-60 points each.

Chris Greinsen, Georgia Force QB, is the second best passer in the league. He’s completed 83.3% of his passes for 9 TDs and 1 Int. Austin’s QB, Adrian McPherson, was a little suspect in week one, but he’s not throwing interceptions yet.

It’s still earlier in the season, but two of the top rushers are on the Wranglers and Mark Lewis had 13 points in the kicking game for them in week one.

Week one can be a little misleading. Austin beat the Gladiators 57-36, which looks like a blowout, but the Gladiators had a new QB and were rusty. On Thursday, they scored 79 on the Grand Rapids Rampage. I don’t think the Wranglers have as good of a defense as that week one score might indicate.

The side play in this game is a bit dicey. It would seem that the Wranglers are a good value at +7.5, but it’s really just a coin flip.

Bottom line, expect the Georgia Force to put up 60 points against the Wrangles. AFL under/over odds is 103, so if the Wranglers muster just 44 points of offense, the over is a winner. I expect we’ll see that happen. I’m looking for around 110-120 points in this contest, and that’s why I like the over.
