The Chicago Bears survived on Sunday by beating the Minnesota Vikings 19-16. The Bears had a 9-6 lead going into the 4th quarter. The field goal fest was ended in the 4th quarter when both teams got into the end zone. The Bears scored a TD on a 24 yard pass from Grossman to Rashied Davis with just under 2 minutes left in the game.
Is the Bears defense really that good? They have yet to shut down a good offense. The Vikings don’t have a great offense yet they had 286 yards of offense. Here’s the weakness—the ground game. The Vikings had 97 yards on the ground and the Bears look like the run is their weakness.
Next week we will see just how good the Bears and their defense is when they host the Seattle Seahawks. This game is basically for bragging rights in the NFC. The offense of the Bears looks horrible. It’s looked good against very poor defenses and just below average against average defenses.
The Bears are now 3-0 and are one game up on the Vikings (2-1) who will probably challenge them for the division all season long. Minnesota goes on the road next week to Buffalo to play the Bills.
