Ben Roethlisberger Riding Illegally

It really should come as no surprise to say this. Today, we have learned that Ben Roethlisberger has been cited in his accident for riding without a valid motorcycle license. He will also be cited for not wearing a helmet. While riders in Pennsylvania are allowed to ride without one, there are certain restrictions. The driver of the car he hit has been cited for failing to yield.

Sadly, the public is out of control once again. She has been receiving threatening phone calls—you would think she did it on purpose. Roethlisberger is at home now and says he will wear a helmet if he rides again. Perhaps this time he can get a valid motorcycle license too. It’s another case of people in the limelight thinking they can do whatever they want.

We know that Roethlisberger can afford the fee for the license. In Pennsylvania, the process is to first obtain a permit for one year. After that time, a riding test is required to obtain the motorcycle license. Riders must then either wait two years or take a safety course to have the helmet restriction taken off. Since Roethlisberger was riding illegally, a helmet is required. As to the threatening phone calls, the police are investigating. We can only hope that those responsible are discovered and brought to justice. We will keep tracking Big Bens progress. The season will be here before we know it.
