The Bengals are off to a fast 3-0 start thanks to their 28-20 win at Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Steelers had a shot to get back into the game, but Ben Roethlisberger threw a critical interception—one of three on the day—and killed the Steelers hope. Big Ben has been back for two games now and he’s not looking good at all. Perhaps the Steelers should put Charlie Batch back into the mix.
Carson Palmer was 18 of 26 for 193 yards. He threw 4 TDs and 2 INTs. The Bengals had 87 yards on the ground and looked like the will be heading back to the playoffs this season. Just how good is this team? There are a couple causes for concern. First, they were 4 of 12 on 3rd down conversions. Second, they only had 15 first downs. Third, they had three turnovers. These are three critical areas. It’s just one game, but we need to keep an eye on these areas in future games.
The Steelers had a balance attack. They had 195 yards in the air and 170 yards on the ground. Next week, Cincinnati gets to prove themselves again as they host the New England Patriots. They had a shot to go 4-0 and cast further doubts on the Patriots. The Steelers have a bye.
