I’ve said it before. The Cleveland Browns are masters at losing home games in heartbreaking fashion. The Cleveland Browns were up 14-3 over the then 2-0 Baltimore Ravens going into the 4th quarter. Five minutes later their lead was shrunk to 14-12. In typical fashion, the Browns allowed the Raven to drive and get into field goal range. With 20 seconds to go in the game, Matt Stover nailed a 52 yard field goal to give the Ravens a 15-14 lead and eventual win.
Steve McNair was 23 of 41 for 264 yards and a TD. His stats look good, but in play he looked a little off. If they weren’t playing the Browns, the Ravens would have lost this game. Lewis added 86 yards on the ground over 21 carries. His longest run was for 21 yards.
The Browns almost had this one. Even though QB Frye was being introduced to the ground over and over, he hung in there. Frye was 21 of 33 for 298 yards and a TD. He also threw an interception. Not being able to run hurt the Browns. They were held to just 38 yards on the ground.
The Ravens are now 3-0. They have a bigger game this week. They are hosting the San Diego Chargers. The Browns fell to 0-3 and are still searching for the first win of the season. Could this be the week? They are traveling to Oakland to face the 0-2 Raiders. Someone has to win their first game.
