It was supposed to be an easy win for the Dolphins—at least on paper. However, the Titans did enough and the Dolphins not enough to make this game much closer than it should have been. The Titans were up 7-3 at the half. The game was tied going to the 4th quarter and the home crowd was getting restless. Olindo Mare nailed a 39 yard field goal with about 9 minutes to go in the game to give the Dolphins the 13-10 win.
Perhaps the biggest news of this game was that Culpepper didn’t throw an interception. He was 17 of 26 for 168 yards. His performance wasn’t impressive, but he didn’t kill the team with multiple mistakes as he’s done in the past. Before the season started, I informed my readers that the Dolphins were over hyped. This game adds more proof to the stack.
The Dolphins get their first win of the season and are now 1-2. They almost lost to the Titans who are one of the worst teams in the NFL. As Titans fans realize that the playoffs are not in the cards this season; the chants for Vince Young to start get louder. The 1-2 Miami Dolphins get another easy game next week as they travel to Houston to face the Texans. The Titans go home to host the Dallas Cowboys.
