Eagles Sign Gaither

The Philadelphia Eagles announced today that they have signed their 5th round selected, Omar Gaither. They signed him to a four-year contract. Gaither plays the OLB position and he was the Eagles late 5th round selection—their second pick in that round. He was drafted 168th overall.

Omar Gaither played at Tennessee and was a two-time All-SEC second-team selection. He had 210 tackles over 49 games for Tennessee. The Eagles have been busy locking up players and trying to improve their club. They hit a home run in the draft and many expect them to have a much better season this year. There’s even talk of them contending for the East crown and a possible wildcard birth if they fail. The Eagles have a good shot at making the playoffs in 2006.
