Faulk is Done

The other day we reported about a growing situation with Marhsall Faulk’s knees. Well, you can consider it a done deal. Scott Linehan, the new St. Louis Rams coach, has confirmed that Marshall Faulk is going to undergo major knee surgery and be out for the entire season. It’s quite likely that this is the end of the line for Faulk. He had a good career, but it’s time to head for greener pastures, like the announcer’s booth.

In a gentlemanly move, the Rams are going to keep Faulk on the roster this upcoming season. They will pay him the $2 million he would have made if he could played. When asked about this, Linehan said, “Some guys earn that. Not very many, but some do, and I believe he’s definitely one of them.” So there you have it. Marhall Faulk is out and probably ready for retirement. Faulk himself has not commented on the issue as of yet. He’s been busy getting second and third opinions on his knees.
