Well, someone had to win this game. Both teams were 0-2 going in and neither team is going anywhere this season. When two team with poor defenses and gun slinger QBs meet up, you know there will be scoring. These two teams wasted no time. The game was tied 14-14 at the end of the 1st quarter. While the Lions had a shot late in the game, they fell short. The Packers won 31-24.
Brett Favre was 25 of 26 for 240 yards and three TDs. Too bad he can’t play the Lions each week. He might rise back to the status of great NFL QB. Ahman Green added 63 yards over 22 carries. He also caught a TD pass from Favre.
John Kitna threw some wild passes in this game. He was 25 of 40 for 342 yards and TDs. He also threw one interception. Jones had 80 yards on the ground and he scored a TD.
This is one of those games that most people probably didn’t care about. It turned into a fun little affair—despite meaning nothing in the grand scheme of things. The Packers are now 1-2 and travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Monday night. Detroit is off to St. Louis to face the Rams. Will this be the week that they win their first game?
