Cornerback Quentin Jammer signed a deal with the San Diego Chargers that will make him a Charger for a very long time. He already had two more years left on his contract, but Jammer was interested in security more than trying to play the free agent game in a couple of years. The two sides agreed on a five year deal worth up to an estimated 30 million. That figure includes some $13.5 million in bonuses.
In commenting about the deal, Quentin Jammer said, “It’s a huge relief. Ever since the Chargers drafted me, I’ve said that I want to play my whole career in San Diego. This contract will go a long way toward that, and I’m thankful.†Jammer was drafted 5th overall in the 2002 NFL draft. Jammer is another player that the Chargers have locked up. They have 15 key players locked up through at least the 2009 season.
