Rams Sputter Past Cardinals

Unless you were a fan—or had a bet on this game—you probably weren’t watching. This was one of the least interesting games on the day. The Rams had a 13-7 lead at the half and a 16-7 lead after three quarters. The Cardinals scored a TD in the 4th quarter, but came up short. The Rams beat the Cardinals 16-14.

Kurt Warner continues to prove that those of us who doubted him were correct. He was 19 of 28 for 256 yards and a TD. However, he threw three interceptions. Edgerrin James showed some life. He had 94 yards over 24 carries and a TD. Given that this was against the Rams, there’s not too much to be excited about.

The Rams had 372 yards of total offense. Marc Bulger was 21 of 31 for 309 yards and 1 TD. Steven Jackson added 62 yards on the ground. He carried the ball 24 times and had a 2.6 average. Torry Holt was 8 catches for 120 yards and a TD.

The Rams squeaked by the Cardinals and are now 2-1. The Cardinals fall to 2-1. Next week the Cardinals travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons. The Rams will be at home to face another poor team—the Detroit Lions.
