In another not surprising event involving an NFL player, Johnathan Sullivan was arrested on several charges, which included possession of marijuana. The incident took place just south of Atlanta, Georgia. Sullivan is a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots.
According to police, he was stopped, because he ran two stop signs. Yes, that will do it. Sullivan was riding with passenger Tamarco Clemons, a 24 year old. Evidentially, neither one was wearing a seatbelt—add this to the charges. If that was not enough, when the officer on the scene asked if either one had any weapons, Sullivan pulls out a handgun and hands it to the officer.
In the end, Sullivan is being charged with running two stop signs, not wearing his seatbelt, playing loud music (this was at 4 a.m.) and possession of marijuana. There was not mention of the handgun, which may have been legal. However, why is an NFL player carrying a weapon, running stop signs, possessing illegal drugs and listening to overly loud music at 4 a.m. in the morning?
Sullivan is 25 years old. He was a first round pick in 2003 for the New Orleans Saints. A few weeks ago he was traded to the New England Patriots. Great selection Patriots. As I said at the beginning, there’s nothing too surprising here. Another NFL player gets arrested for doing stupid things.
