Washington Redskins at New York Giants Tonight Open NFL Season—My Free NFL Prediction

It’s finally here. Tonight the NFL season officially opens as the Washington Redskins battle at the New York Giants.

The sportsbooks have the New York Giants as a 4.5-point favorite. This number could increase another half point by game time as it appears that about 60% of the public is on the Giants. We’ll see though.

The line opened at 3.5 and quickly started to inch upward. Around Vegas, the only -4 listed is Planet Hollywood.

Even at 4.5, I’m taking the New York Giants tonight. The Redskins starters showed me absolutely nothing in the preseason—except that they have a lot of work to do. While some are high on the Redskins this season, I’m not.

Since it’s possible that the Redskins will have trouble scoring, I’m laying off the under/over of 40.

Last season, week one’s average points per game was 36. It fluctuated in the 40’s in the following weeks, which shows that some teams need the first game just to get the wheels moving again.

The Giants look very good and at -4.5, that’s where the value is.

Alright! How about those Giants! They came out early and Eli looked like the MVP of last years Super Bowl! Awesome work! It’s going to be a great year!!!

Hey, I figured I would share a little tip for any fellow G-Men fans looking to go to a game at Giants Stadium this year…
If you are looking to save some money but see a game then wait till Wednesday night or the Thursday before the game. These are the days when ticket holders start to reduce ticket prices big-time on sites like StubHub, RazorGator and eSellOut… Why? Because many of the guys still holding tickets live out of the state in areas like California or Texas even and have no chance or want to attend the game BUT they would much rather take $50-$100 for their tickets instead of nothing. Think about it this way…If you tried to get tickets off a scary scalper on game day your walking around with at least $300-$500 cash without any idea of what you might get. Personally I always use eSellOut because it is independently owned and I think they tend to be a little easier to use and often more cost friendly. I’m 1-0 this season. The New York Giants covered.

However, I’d be concerned about future games. The Redskins should have been blown out, but the Giants could only muster 1 TD on the opening drive.

I was not surprised by the under either. It will be interesting to see the NFL lines for these two teams next week.
